Grace Place Playgroup – Winter/Spring 2008

Dear Parents,

We hope you’ll join us for another session of the Grace Place Playgroup

The Playgroup provides a safe and informal environment where parents and caregivers can socialize and where infant and preschool children can play and interact with each other. 

Please fill out and send the registration form to the Playgroup. Grace Place church requires that each family fill out a release of liability form. Please also note the Playgroup Rules. These rules must be followed for the safety of the children.

Winter/Spring 2008 Schedule

The session runs from Thursday, January 3rd through Thursday, April 17th. We meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. There is no Playgroup on Monday, January 21st (Martin Luther King Holiday)

Registration Fees

• $100 for the first child enrolled
• $50 for each subsequent sibling enrolled
• Children under 6 months free with registered sibling

Please submit completed registration form (both sides and signed) and check made out to Grace Place Playgroup.  They may be dropped off at Playgroup with Parent Volunteer or sent to Grace Place Playgroup, 637 S. Dearborn St., Chicago, IL 60605.

We need parent volunteers, for additional support. Duties may include setting up and putting away toys at open and close of the sessions, helping to problem solve any issues, and assisting with toy washes. Please let us know if you are interested in becoming a volunteer.

Playgroup Rules

The following rules must be followed at all times for the safety of the children.

• Payment and a completed liability release form are required to attend.
• Leave sick children at home. Do not bring infectious children to Playgroup.
• Keep strollers away from the doors. The doors are our fire escape.
• Caregivers must accompany and supervise their children at all times.
• Caregivers may be requested to help put out and clean up toys.
• Caregivers must clean up after snacks and spills. Be careful with hot beverages. 
• Caregivers, not Parent Volunteers, are responsible for handling any disagreements or altercations between the children.
• Parent Volunteers reserve the right to ask those acting inappropriately to leave for that day. 
• PLEASE NOTE: as there are children with severe peanut allergies in the group this year, we are asking that it be a peanut free zone.

Call for Playgroup Volunteers

Parent volunteers run the Grace Place playgroup - we need and welcome new volunteers.

If you are interested, please contact us at graceplaceplaygroup.com for more information on what volunteer roles entail.  Parent volunteers receive 25% off registration fees for their children.

Need Volunteers for following:

• Monday opening and/or closing
• Thursday opening and/or closing
• Toy Wash coordinators

Toy Washes

To help support the play group, Toy Washes are a mandatory requirement for participation.  Each family is asked to participate in at least one toy wash. A fee of $50 (in addition to registration) will be assessed to you, if you are unable to participate in a Toy Wash.

If a family does not participate in a Toy Wash, or submit a fee, Grace Place Playgroup Parent Volunteers reserve the right to not allow participation by family in next session until such fee is paid.  Please indicate your preference for day of Toy Wash participation.

7:00 pm start at Grace Place Church

• Wednesday, February 6th
• Wednesday, March 19th
• Wednesday, April 30th  (close for season)
